UFC suspends Conor McGregor!

By  |

The UFC and the CSAD (Combat Sports Anti-Doping) body have suspended the Irish star for 18 months because he broke anti-doping rules.

McGregor was suspended because he couldn’t take three doping tests in 2024: one on June 13, one on September 19, and one on September 20. This was because he was recovering from a toe injury. Even though he didn’t fail a test, his absence from the controls was seen as a violation of the availability rules, which means he automatically got a punishment.

The official statement says that McGregor worked with the police during the whole investigation and took full responsibility, which kept him from getting a harsher sentence. If he hadn’t been willing to work with the authorities, he could have been banned from competing for two years, which would have meant he couldn’t compete again until September 2026.

As of now, Conor will be able to get back into the Octagon on March 20, 2026.

McGregor hasn’t officially said anything about the suspension yet, but he did say recently that he will fully commit to preparing for a big comeback that the UFC is planning for the summer of 2026. Some people think that this fight could even be part of a show at the White House, which is something that has been going around the fighting world for a while.
