BMF Members Who Snitched; Details About BMF
Betrayal is unfortunately part of human relationships and often strikes from the most unsuspected sources-those we are most trusting. The instinct to betray is generally self-interest, and for the right price or gain, even the closest of allies could turn against each other. This is quite evident especially in criminal organizations and groups where members betray their associates for personal gain and resultantly into widespread mistrust and downfall.
A glaring example of this is through the criminal organization known as the Black Mafia Family (BMF), infamous for their incredible influence and success in the early 2000s. BMF was a business created by two brothers, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory and his brother, Terry Flenory. BMF created an empire around drug trafficking and money laundering and was able to wield considerable power based on the ties that they had with Mexican cartels. However, a significant instance of BMF snitches led them to downfall.

The Rise of BMF
BMF began as a small-scale drugs organization, but under the stewardship of Big Meech and Terry, it expanded to become a large concern. BMF maintained an extremely covert activity profile. This made it extremely difficult for law enforcement agents to gather enough evidence against the organization.
Through its extensive network of associates, the organization was able to extend its influence to the domain of hip-hop music. Until 2005, most of them considered that this was only a music company. It was then that the truth regarding their criminal activities was known to the world.
The Role of Betrayal
However, it was internal betrayal rather than outside elements alone that caused the BMF to cave in. Infidelity in the organization led to major betrayal from within. Heads of the organization, such as William Marshall and Omari McCree, became informants, bringing the government enough to seal the case of the empire. That was that for Big Meech’s empire.
However, the biggest contributor in bringing Big Meech down was Omari McCree. In the beginning, McCree gave away the workings of the gang to the authorities, thus creating a very well-prepared case against the Flenory brothers. Although McCree tried to retract his statements later, it was too late for that because the damage had already been done. His treachery ensured that law enforcement would be able to find enough evidence to send Big Meech and everyone else connected with the BMF to prison.
How the Case Progressed
It was due to the testimony of McCree and Marshall that investigators were able to solidify enough evidence against the powerful organization for such a long time. The inside information and expertise of Big Meech and Terry Flenory gave the police an edge, and BMF eventually fell apart, piece by piece. Eventually, both Big Meech and Terry Flenory got apprehended and were put in long prison sentences.
Impact on Omari McCree
Although his betrayal reduced his sentence, later in life, McCree experienced retaliation for this act. After serving his time he was re-arrested for several other acts of illegality. Failure to find an exit from the world of crime by McCree indicates that life outside the gang was hard for him; thus, reintegration into society is not easy. Nothing has proven more destructive than betrayal. In view of their tight-knit operations and wide influence, this might be a more insidious cause of the fall of the Black Mafia Family, given that betrayal from some of its key members, such as Omari McCree and William Marshall, collapsed the gang. These are stories not just about one or two instances of betrayal but as cautionary tales for the fragility of trust in any criminal enterprise where loyalty is often outweighed by self-pr
