The number of home houses over one million euros in value in the Netherlands had increased, establishing a record of 223,000 homes in the last year, up in value by 13.5 percent when compared to the year before, and 243 percent more so compared to 2020. Such costly homes and apartments are furthermore being constructed in rows from thereon, reflecting an average value of around 1.35 million euros per residential asset in the Netherlands.
“Well, that is where our housing market stands at present,” Kalkas commented.
The agency pointed out that many homes, which had been sluggish for a long time on the real estate market, saw their values shoot up in recent years.
“Then their house became a million-euro house or more from a ride upon that capital gain,” added Kalkas.
But for the first-time homebuyer, things have become a lot harder, according to the agency.
