Phillies, Sixers and Flyers Games Now Available Directly on Peacock for Added Price

By  |

How elegantly exquisite! Follow Phillies, Sixers and Flyers! with NBC Sports Philadelphia on line TV if you don’t have cable.

It has been announced on Monday, that subscribers of Peacock in the viewing area of NBC Sports Philadelphia can now purchase an add-on for streaming live games of the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers on the network:

“The subscription add-on for NBC Sports Philadelphia price tag is $24.95/month. An add-on subscription can be purchased by any users with directly expedited billing under the Peacock Premium ($7.99/month) or Premium Plus ($13.99/month) Plans. To know more or to subscribe, the users can head to the NBC Sports Philadelphia website.”

Users get more than just the games; the add-on includes a wider range of NBC Sports Philadelphia programming:

“NBC Sports Philadelphia’s live Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia 76ers, and Philadelphia Flyers games, which are surrounded by comprehensive pregame and postgame coverage, and extensive Philadelphia Eagles (NFL) programming, highlighted by live gameday and daily in-season shows. NBC Sports Philadelphia also provides sports news, analysis and commentary programming, such as ‘SportsNet Central,’ and live coverage оf other teams, including college basketball and football.”

It is a pretty big day for cord-cutters. The $24.95 per month fee may feel kind of heavy, especially on top of paying for Peacock at $5 a month, but it is, nonetheless, far lesser than most cable or bundle subscriptions. For anybody who essentially pays for a cable bundle just to watch the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers, the potential savings from switching to this Peacock add-on are tremendous.

In an ideal world, yeah, the consumer would just be able to pay per game, but the hardest of hardcore fans could cancel when their other team is out of season. That means if you want it for the Sixers, you cancel in the summer and return in the fall. (Probably cancel now as well, but that is a different issue.)
