It can take away from outdoor activities, family bonding time and spontaneous unscheduled playtime; cause additional anxiety among students; lead to arguments between parents and their children; decrease physical activity time that’s essential to children’s wellbeing – all factors which negatively affect children’s health.

Studies demonstrate that most students despise homework. Not just a passing fad; students often view homework as stressful, time-consuming and meaningless – they wish they were spending their schooling learning how to live rather than how to study and regurgitate information.

Homework is essential to academic success, but it shouldn’t consume every waking hour of our days. Too much homework means sacrificing outdoor play and family bonding activities and leading to additional stress for both student and parent alike. Furthermore, excessive homework may contribute to more anxiety as well as falling behind in classes.

Homeworks that require students to conduct research and solve real-life issues help them make connections between school learning and real life events. Furthermore, such assignments help develop accountability and responsibility skills which will serve them well throughout their professional careers.
