Artificial Intelligence has had a major effect on how companies source and manage labor for their operations, with AI making complex workforce ecosystems much simpler to construct using external talent markets or staffing platforms to fulfill short-term skills engagements needed to meet results.

What jobs will be replaced by AI?

Artificial Intelligence will replace some jobs, but not necessarily human workers altogether. AI will allow us to focus on more complex, high-value tasks requiring higher levels of thinking and decision-making – freeing up employees for creative projects or meaningful interactions among peers.

AI may displace customer service representatives who communicate via phone due to simple customer queries that do not require emotional intelligence from agents and AI’s quicker and more accurate responses compared with humans. Businesses must identify which parts of their jobs may be vulnerable and start planning now for this change.

What jobs will be enhanced by AI?

AI will certainly improve many jobs, but it’s essential that employers recognize which skills and traits cannot be replaced by technology – for instance an accountant could benefit from faster and more accurate work using AI tools.

Some workers will need to adapt as AI replaces parts of their job with AI-powered tasks, for instance freelance artists may have to shift focus or find alternative marketing or business models in order to keep themselves profitable. Furthermore, AI helps reduce human error by performing repetitive tasks like data entry and processing without human input.

According to a recent Pew Research Center study, most workers exposed to AI are optimistic it will enhance rather than harm their jobs. This includes workers across professional services as well as government, public administration and military organizations. Furthermore, women, Asian workers and those with higher levels of education were more likely than other workers to believe AI will help their positions.
